This is a Bellydance video of me, improvising to the magical song “The Host Of Seraphim” by the group, Dead Can Dance. There is nothing quite like the feeling of bellydancing deep within a forest, far, far away from humans, and only surrounded by Mother Nature and Her creatures. The feeling is meditative, almost surreal. This dance was performed in a secret, special place within the majestic forest of Vancouver. The video was recorded as the sun was setting and darkness was approaching. By the end of the video, night had almost taken over. I did not do any editing on the dance video itself, so that the transition into darkness could be seen naturally. In this performance, you will hear the beautiful sound of the birds singing all around me. I am an 18 year-old Persian Bellydancer, with drops of Azerbaijani and Egyptian in my blood. This combination, aside many other reasons, makes me passionate about some of the most beautiful dance forms in the world – Oriental Dances. Out of all the magickal dances of the Middle East, at the age of 15 I fell eternally in love with the spiritual, ancient and immortal art of Bellydance. To this day that undying desire is growing.
